  Don't take my word 100%, but if I remember what I read somewhere, I think there is a chemical on the outside of plastic bags that can be harmful but that cats love to lick. I'm not sure why they like it.
  
  Mine don't LICK plastic bags, but my little boy, Jack, has a thing about SLEEPING on them.

    my cat likes to sleep on them too, and has been known to lick them... I had no idea it was bad though, thanks for the info. I'll have to make sure whenever I get one to put it away.
