thank you so much for caring about my sweet kitty Boo. I called every veterinarian and none of them would even see him on an emergency basis because all I had was $80. Appointments were days away and not an option. i took Boo to petsmart because they charge $35 for an exam, and walkins are welcome. the veterinarian said Boo had an obstruction, that the bladder was so large it could burst, requiring immediate surgery. Estimated costs were $400 to $600 for the surgery and a few hundred for x-rays and tests. I told her I had $80, and would pay payments. She said no credit. She said Boo was going to suffer horribly and would die and for $94, I could have him put to sleep. For about 15 minutes, I tried to borrow money, I tried to give him away to friends with credit cards who were especially fond of him, and I prayed. In the end, I held him and kissed him and said goodbye. he's buried out back and he will have a really cool marker. I've been crying for hours and I can't sleep tonight at all. normally, at night, when Boo isn't by my side, I know I have to stay awake and let him in the house so he won't spend the night out in the cold. He slept in my arms on his back like a baby. I have to learn to sleep again without him.

I am not going to get another animal to ease my loneliness. I can't afford to take care of an animal in an emergency.

Finally, I am going to try and not hate myself for whatever I find I did wrong in retrospect. Hindsight is always 20/20. I did everything I could think of. I never wanted this!
