Eating eyebrows?

My male cat, Jack, has a "thing" about eyebrows. He either chews off or eats the eyebrows from my two female cats. He'll walk up to Luna, start to groom her, licks her ears (she gets that glazed look), then he chews off the eyebrows. He does the same to Emily but has a much harder time about it because she hates to be groomed - EVER - so she pushes him away most of the time.

Luna will actually walk up to Jack and hold out her head to let him chew them off. She ends up looking rather strange....she looks like a 1940s film star, if that makes sense.

I talked to vets. They've never heard of anything like this. But the vet said that as long as they aren't fighting and getting hurt, it shouldn't harm them. But I can't figure out why he keeps doing it......

Any ideas? Any thoughts?

My cats (Rogue & Shadowcat) groom each other, but they never chew off the whiskers or eyebrows.....
Be careful if Jack starts to go for the whiskers though, cats balance and know how large they are by their whiskers. One of my first cats had an "incident" with syrup, and it pulled his whiskers out on one side. He bumped into everything for about 4 months as they grew back out.

Now if someone could explain Rogue's compulsion to lick and eat plastic......

He never goes for the whiskers......it's just the eyebrows. I sometimes think that, in another life, Jack might have been a beautician. Or maybe they tickle him when he goes to "kiss" the girls.

As far as the plastic thing......I've heard of a lot of cats doing that. I can't remember where I read it, but it is something you need to watch, because there's something on plastic that draws certain cats but is not really good for them. Hopefully someone here will be able to elaborate further??

I can't remember where but I read somewhere that there is some sort of chemical that attracts certain cats to plastics and stuff like tapes. My youngest will lick tape, plastic anywhere possible. He'll actually search it out. I now have to throw everything with plastic away, or put it in a draw he can't get into. Tape is a bit harder because I have no idea how he drags things out with tape on it... ahahhah it must be the preditor in him

I've had my cats really thin the eyebrow whiskers off the others. Not 100% gone, but they'd leave 2, where there had been a bunch. I know that when cats do the social grooming, they bite at bumps, generally taking them for parasites of the flea or tick variety. So I think they mistake the whisker-bumps for parasites, and bite on them.

If the cats are happy together, I wouldn't worry.

Actually, ironically, the male is the peacekeeper. THe two females bicker at times. But he smoothes the wrinkles. Actually, he's the most amazing cat I've ever seen. He acts like a dog at times......friendly with everyone. Charms EVERYONE! Even people who don't like cats. You can take him anywhere and he makes himself at home. So I guess if he has a few odd "quirks" I'll live with them. Thanks all.
